- The power supply is broken and there is no electricity:
The majority of floodlights have broken power supplies, which provide a stable working voltage for the light source.
(1) If there is a problem with the power supply in the process of converting AC power into DC power, it may cause the LED floodlight to not light up and flicker. This is generally impossible to repair, so just replace the power supply. Of course, before you replace it, you must understand the number of series and parallel of the light source, the current and voltage, and whether it is sufficient wattage. If you do not understand and rashly replace the power supply, it will not take long for it to break or not be bright enough.
(2) Another phenomenon is that the floodlight can light up for a while at first and then start to flicker or flicker as soon as the light is turned on. This is mainly because the power supply components are unstable, causing flickering. The fundamental problem is that the power supply quality is too poor or the heat conduction is poor. After the power supply has been working for a period of time, the temperature of the power supply itself rises, causing the power supply components to be unstable. In some areas, the temperature difference between winter and summer is large, causing the power supply operating temperature to be too high or too low, and it cannot operate stably. Objectively speaking, such power supplies are all unqualified products. If the power supply is broken, then replace it with a better one. A power supply of average quality will not work if it lasts for two or three years. Now many power supplies have a five-year warranty, so it is not a big problem to use it for five or six years.
- The light source is broken and the light does not light up:
(1) Check whether there is a black spot in the middle of the lamp bead where the glue is sealed. This black spot is caused by two reasons. The first is that the temperature of the lamp bead is formed by the high temperature of the glue and the fluorescent powder after long-term use. Another reason is that the current of the power supply is too high (this is unstable power supply, or it may be poor light source quality). See if the lamp bead itself is open circuit or necrotic.
(2) Poor heat dissipation of the floodlight source can also cause the light source to decay (not as bright as before) or burn out. Another reason is that the floodlight is not waterproof, water enters the lamp, causing the lamp bead to burn out.
(3) If the shell is intact, it can still be used by replacing the lamp bead, but you need to know the power, current, voltage and other parameters of the power supply to match the light source.
(4) There is another point about the power supply and light source. The floodlight is dim, that is, the light is very weak. In this case, it may be that the power supply is bad or the light source is bad. You need to use a multimeter to measure it.
(5) If the floodlight is not as bright as when it was first bought after being used for a period of time, then this is because the light source is of poor quality and the light decay is serious. The floodlight will become dimmer as it is used for a longer time.
- The wire welding point is poorly welded, resulting in no power:
The integrated lamp beads in the floodlight are connected to two wires. Check whether the lamp beads have poor welding, false welding, cold welding, whether the power input line has loose connection points, circuit breakage, etc., and check whether the driver connection line is damaged.
- Water in the floodlight:
This is because the waterproof treatment is not done well. The consequence may cause the light source and power supply to burn out. This is basically hopeless. If you know more about it, you can replace the light source and power supply. If necessary, you can contact the manufacturer’s after-sales service. The main reason is still poor quality.
In short, the main reasons for the LED floodlights not lighting up or flickering may be the power quality, light source quality, shell thickness and waterproof treatment. LED floodlights are all high-power LED products. Good quality manufacturers will undergo strict aging tests before leaving the factory to ensure that they are good products when given to consumers.
